Dr Stephen Quake

Dr. Stephen Quake is the Lee Otterson Professor of Bioengineering and Professor of Applied Physics at Stanford University and co-President of the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub, where his groundbreaking work has produced transformative measurement tools for biology, including novel DNA sequencing technologies and microfluidic automation for single-cell genetic analysis. His innovations in medical diagnostics — most notably the first non-invasive prenatal test for Down syndrome, now used by millions of women annually — have revolutionized medicine by replacing invasive procedures with simple blood tests, radically accelerating the pace of biological discovery.
